Music: The Receivers

The Receivers are a group of 3 amazing and talented teen musicians and friends who love to perform trad music and to compose their own tunes: Millie Shadgett, Fern Marwood and Willow Marwood. They are nominees for the 2023 Canadian Folk Music Awards as Young Performer(s) of the Year (see article). Individually nominated for CFMA awards in 2022, they met there and solidified a desire to work together as a trio. They are recognized as part of the future of Canadian folk music. Millie was a winner at the 2022 Young Tradition Vermont contest last May. We will be hearing more about them in the future. In collaboration with Young Tradition Vermont, a program at Vermont Folklife.
